Record revenues from broadcasting have allowed the biggest sports brands to become complacent in commercially exploiting digital innovation, but a mind shift is required to engage the global fan base with a high value free content offering.
Clubs have to see beyond short term revenue from mobile content sales and implement a sponsor funded personalised content model to engage the worldwide fan base via the mobile phone, to win the biggest rewards.
